Diese Zeit hat Perry Rhodan, der durch den auf ihn programmierten Zellaktivator von den periodischen Zellduschen zur weiteren Lebenserhaltung unabhängig geworden ist, klug genutzt. Die Situation innerhalb des Solaren Systems und des Arkoniden-Reiches und der anderen bekannten Systeme der Milchstraße gibt zu keiner Besorgnis mehr Anlaß.
Die Lage verändert sich aber jäh, als ein terranisches Frachtschiff Azgos-Stern anfliegt und auf Azgola, dem zweiten Planeten dieses einsamen Sonnensystems, landet!
Die sofort angestellten Untersuchungen der Abteilung III haben ergeben, daß die Bewohner jenes Planeten durch fremde Einwirkung auf groteske Art und Weise ums Leben kommen würden, wenn man sie nicht schnellstens evakuierte - wie es ja auch geschah.
Doch der Tod durch Überernährung, dem man nur entgehen kann, wenn man sich in hermetisch abgeschlossenen Räumen mit eigener Luftversorgung aufhält, kann jeden Augenblick auch auf anderen Sauerstoffwelten der Galaxis zuschlagen - und die Erde ist ja auch eine Sauerstoffwelt!
Daß dieser Gedankengang Perry Rhodan, den Administrator des Solaren Imperiums, dazu veranlaßt, mit aller Energie denen nachzuspüren, die die Atmosphäre von Azgola mit mikroskopisch feinen Sporen von höchstem Nährwert verseucht haben, ist klar.
Die Frage ist nur, auf welchem Planeten als nächstes DIE SAAT DES VERDERBENS abgesprüht wird...
