Sergio Sánchez Benítez nació en Palamós (Girona) en 1967, pero ha vivido casi siempre en las afueras de Madrid. Es licenciado en Filosofía por la Universidad Complutense, máster en Periodismo por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid / El País y ha ampliado estudios en Helsinki y Berlín.
Ha trabajado y colaborado en medios como El País, Cambio 16, Telemadrid, La Modificación y Letra Internacional. En la actualidad, compatibiliza la escritura con el asesoramiento a empresas y organismos públicos sobre comunicación.

Es autor de Correr es muy sencillo (2008), un ensayo sobre la práctica de la carrera de fondo.
